TRACKING

Single-axis tracking systems

  • Smart tracking algorithm, for around 2 % additional yield
  • Independently controlled, interlocked drives that can actively correct torque-tube twist
  • Spherical bearing design that follows slopes up to 15 %
  • Multi-point support for structural stability
  • Multiple protection modes for reliable operation
  • Tracking range up to ±60° (optional)

Fit check

Is a tracker right for your site?

Single-axis trackers produced 12–25 % more energy than fixed-tilt systems in NREL’s study of 50 US cities, with the largest gains in dry, sunny climates. They pay off on flat or gently sloping land with strong direct sun and a good energy price.

  • Slope: our spherical bearing design follows slopes up to 15 %. Steeper or broken ground is usually better served by fixed terrain-following structures; see our hillside checklist.
  • Wind: in typhoon or cyclone zones, the stow strategy and backup power must be engineered for the site, or fixed-tilt may be the safer choice.
  • Operation: drives and controllers need spare parts and trained technicians within reach of the plant.

Run your yield model both ways before deciding. Our guide fixed-tilt vs single-axis tracker includes a payback test and a site checklist.
